About LSSL

LISA Supporting and Sustaining Lives (LSSL) is a Ugandan NGO caring for abandoned babies, refugees, and vulnerable communities — and helping them build self-reliant futures.

history_eduOur Story

LSSL was founded and registered in 2024 to respond to two urgent realities in Uganda: infants abandoned without a safe place to grow up, and families displaced by conflict trying to rebuild their lives. We are a young, focused organisation — but in our first year we have moved from registration to delivery, completing a livelihood support project for 146 refugees and host-community members in Kiryandongo alongside an international funding partner.

We are a national NGO incorporated as a company limited by guarantee without share capital, and we lead with the question of why we exist before how large we are: every programme starts from a specific need — an abandoned baby, a displaced household — not a slogan.

flagMission

LSSL supports abandoned babies, refugees, and vulnerable communities in Uganda through practical, sustainable solutions — providing essential support and fostering community resilience for a more inclusive future.

visibilityVision

A more inclusive Uganda where abandoned children, refugees, and host communities have the care, skills, and resources to live with dignity and to support themselves.

interestsWhat We Do

Our work serves refugees, orphans, abandoned children, and street children. We bridge the gap between government service providers and community needs, and we build self-reliance through savings, enterprise, and community cohesion.
