About LSSL
LISA Supporting and Sustaining Lives (LSSL) is a Ugandan NGO caring for abandoned babies, refugees, and vulnerable communities — and helping them build self-reliant futures.
history_eduOur Story
We are a national NGO incorporated as a company limited by guarantee without share capital, and we lead with the question of why we exist before how large we are: every programme starts from a specific need — an abandoned baby, a displaced household — not a slogan.
flagMission
LSSL supports abandoned babies, refugees, and vulnerable communities in Uganda through practical, sustainable solutions — providing essential support and fostering community resilience for a more inclusive future.
visibilityVision
A more inclusive Uganda where abandoned children, refugees, and host communities have the care, skills, and resources to live with dignity and to support themselves.
interestsWhat We Do
Our work serves refugees, orphans, abandoned children, and street children. We bridge the gap between government service providers and community needs, and we build self-reliance through savings, enterprise, and community cohesion.
Lisa Baby Care Centre
A safe home for abandoned infants, providing medical care, nutrition, and emotional support.

Community infrastructure
Construction of shared community facilities — including places of worship and learning — for refugee settlements.
Child protection
Safeguarding and child protection are integrated into every programme we deliver.
monitoringOur Impact
Our Kiryandongo Livelihood Support Project ran from May to July 2025, funded by Muslim Charity UK, supporting refugees and the host community to build self-reliant enterprises.

Safeguarding
The protection and dignity of every child and beneficiary comes first in all we do.
Integrity
We are honest, transparent, and accountable to the communities and donors we work with.
Compassion
We meet every person — abandoned child, refugee, host-community member — with empathy and respect.
Impact
We track concrete results: people supported, groups formed, incomes raised.
Community-led
Beneficiaries are verified and prioritised through transparent, community-led processes.
Sustainability
We build self-reliance — savings, enterprise, and skills — not dependency.
groupsLeadership & Governance
LSSL is governed by a Board of Directors and led by a Chief Executive Officer supported by a senior management team. The Board is chaired by Owek. Hon. Dr. Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi.
